This morning, Louise Flynn, General Manager of Support After Suicide spoke at the launch of South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network’s (SEMPHN) postvention toolkit ‘Growing Around Grief’ to support people in south east Melbourne affected by suicide and sudden loss.

Louise spoke alongside Tim Richardson MP, Victoria’s Parliamentary Secretary for Mental Health & Suicide Prevention, lived experience advocate and author, Su-Rose McIntyre and SEMPHN CEO, Quinn Pawson.

The toolkit was created as a direct result of insights from the Victorian Government-funded Suicide Prevention Place-Based trials and was developed in collaboration with local partners and lived experience experts including Support After Suicide. The toolkit comprises a main booklet, plus four supplementary booklets where each book can be used independently, addressing the complex needs of specific groups, providing practical tools and support to minimise the long-term social, emotional, and financial impact after suicide or sudden loss.

The toolkit can be accessed online via SEMPHN here https://www.semphn.org.au/growing-around-grief
