Intended for primary school aged children who have lost a loved one to suicide, Serious Fun runs in each of the school holidays. Members of the Support After Suicide counselling team and trained volunteers facilitate these sessions. There is usually a theme relating to loss and grief followed by time to play and have fun together. Children find this to be an enjoyable time of sharing and connecting with others who have lost someone important to suicide.

This month’s theme explores the theme “Giving Grief a Voice”.  Alongside our counsellors Kristina, Colin and Sheri, we will be exploring the different ways of ‘bringing our voice to life’ and how we find our own language for grief, loss, death, suicide & other experiences in life.  Take a look at the flyer here.

To find out more or to discuss if Serious Fun may be suitable for your child/ren, please feel free to contact us on 1800 943 415 or by email aftersuicide@jss.org.au

Please note, there is a relaxed coffee morning for parents and carers that runs at the same time as Serious Fun. You are welcome to join us and connect with others.
